RegexKit uses client-side browser storage technologies to improve your experience:

LocalStorage

We use browser LocalStorage to store:

• Your tool usage history (regex patterns you've tested, strings you've encoded/decoded, etc.)
• User interface preferences (dark mode settings)
• Recently used patterns and inputs

How Client-Side Storage Works

• All data is stored only on your device in your web browser
• Data never leaves your browser or gets transmitted to our servers
• You have full control over this data and can clear it at any time through your browser settings

Data Retention

• User-Controlled: All stored data remains in your browser until you manually delete it
• No Server Retention: Since we don't collect data on our servers, there is no server-side retention period
• Clearing Data: You can clear all RegexKit data by:
  • Clearing your browser's localStorage/cache for regexkit.dev
  • Using your browser's privacy/data management tools
  • Using the browser's "Clear Site Data" feature

Third-Party Services

RegexKit does not integrate with third-party services for data collection, analytics, or advertising. The application is self-contained and runs entirely in your browser.

Security

Since all processing happens client-side:

• Your data never travels over the network to our servers
• You don't need to trust us with sensitive information (like API keys, passwords, or proprietary regex patterns)
• Your patterns and test strings remain completely private
